The Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology (non-teaching) with a concentration in Biological Anthropology
A major in Anthropology leading to the Bachelor of Science (non-teaching) degree with a concentration in Biological Anthropology consists of a minimum of 54-57 semester hours. This includes 27 semester hours of required course work in the major and 27-30 semester hours of related practicum, intra-, and inter-disciplinary course work in the Biological Anthropology concentration. A minimum of 18 hours taken to fulfill the major in anthropology must be taken at Appalachian State University.

Eighteen semester hours of inter-disciplinary work in courses above the 1000 level with the following prefixes: BIO, CHE, CJ, ES, GHY, GLY, MAT, and/or STT. These courses must be chosen in consultation with an advisor and are subject to approval.
In addition to General Education and the above requirements, 21-24 hours of electives must be taken to total 122 semester hours required for the B.S. degree. |
